2024 Irrigation Meter Read

Town residents with second water meters for outdoor irrigation can now submit their irrigation meter reading through October 21, 2024. The Town issues a once-a-year irrigation credit on November sewer bills to grant users a timely credit for the highest usage of consumption, which is typically during the summer months.

Second meter reading submissions will ONLY be accepted electronically through the Town of Dedham’s website and online form below*. Sewer users must include a picture of the meter to receive an accurate credit. The online form is accessible on mobile devices, allowing an easy way to provide a photo of the reading.

Please submit an irrigation meter reading by October 21, 2024 as credits will only be reflected on the November billing.

*If you need assistance completing the online form, please give us a call at (781) 751-9166.

Write down the number on the display. The odometer on your meter records total water usage similarly to the odometer in your car records miles driven. The water meter odometer records water use in cubic feet and displays as follows: The digits from right to left represent 1 cubic foot, 10 cubic feet, 100 cubic feet and so on. Like a car odometer, the water meter odometer can not be altered. We charge and credit sewer usage per 100 cubic feet. You only need to include the numbers on the white dials with black writing. Round up the digits in black area. Ignore any fixed 0s that may be printed on your meter. They are not part of your water odometer. Do not record any preceding 0s.
