Key Dates

The committee’s first public meeting will be held on June 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 302 at Town Hall. Meetings will be open to the public and will include opportunities for community input throughout the planning process.

As an initial step in the process, Advisory Committee members, town staff and the consultant team will conduct a walking tour of the study area surrounding Legacy Place on June 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The site visit will help identify existing conditions, challenges, and potential opportunities within the study area.

At their April 22, 2026 meeting, the Planning Board selected the seven candidates that will serve on the Legacy Boulevard Mixed-Use District Advisory Committee. 

The chosen Committee Members are:

At their April 8, 2026 meeting, the Planning Board voted to endorse hiring RKG Associates as the consultant on the Legacy Boulevard Mixed-Use District Plan. A copy of their proposal is available in the Documents section of the home page. 

The Planning Board will interview candidates for the Advisory Committee at their scheduled April 8th board meeting. This will be the final opportunity for the candidates to interview with the Board.

The Planning Board will interview candidates for the Advisory Committee at their scheduled March 25th board meeting. This will be round one of two possible opportunities the candidates will get to interview with the Board. The Board will also designate a Planning Board appointee to serve on the committee at this meeting.

Legacy Blvd Mixed-Use District Plan Advisory Committee

The Town of Dedham’s Planning Board is seeking applications for interested Dedham residents, students, business owners, and/or property owners to serve on a Legacy Boulevard Mixed-Use District Plan Advisory Committee.  The Committee will collaborate with a consultant team, the Planning Board and the Planning & Zoning Division to develop a roadmap for the future growth of the Legacy Boulevard/Providence Highway area.   For more details on the Legacy Boulevard Mixed-Use District Plan, please visit the project’s website: https://beheard.dedham-ma.gov/legacy-blvd-zoning

The Legacy Blvd Mixed-Use District Plan Advisory Committee will consist of:

• One (1) member of the Planning Board 
• One (1) member of the Select Board
• One (1) member of the Zoning Board of Appeals 
• One (1) member of the Finance and Warrant Committee 
• Seven (7) Town of Dedham residents, students, business owners, and/or property owners, appointed by the Planning Board.

Committee Responsibilities & Expectations:

The committee duration is anticipated to be one year to develop the plan. In order to complete the work in that timeline, committee members will be expected to:

• Provide input and guidance throughout the process
• Facilitate and encourage public participation in the planning process
• Attend and estimated six (6) committee meetings during the evening
• Attend and promote two (2) public meetings
• Complete work outside of meetings as needed

Any person who desires to be considered for appointment to this committee must respond by Friday, February 20, 2026.  Interested persons shall send a letter and/or resume to Ariel Jacobs via email: ajacobs@dedhamma.gov.  The letter should include reasons for interest in and qualifications for the position.
