Facilities Master Plan Project
Save the Date!
The Facilities Master Plan Steering Committee is hosting a second Community Meeting on Monday, June 15 at 7PM and we want you there!
What to Expect
Joined by the consultant team from Arrowstreet, we will provide quick update on the status of the project and review the overall goals, showing how your feedback will guide next steps. We'll share insights from the recent FMP survey (closed May 24), highlighting participation, key themes, and consensus areas, with a live, interactive segment using Mentimeter, followed by a review of existing conditions across all Town and School facilities included in this project. The session will wrap up with an engaging Interactive Data Walk, where you can share your thoughts and questions on sticky notes.
This is another great opportunity to voice your opinions and make an impact on our Town’s future! Stay tuned for more information and details!
A community-driven plan for the future of Dedham's public buildings
Dedham is creating its first-ever plan for all town-owned buildings, including schools, libraries, Town offices, and public safety facilities. This plan is called the Facilities Master Plan (FMP).
The Facilities Master Plan is a joint initiative of the Select Board and School Committee. Working with a professional consultant, the project will assess every Town-owned building for structural condition, space use, accessibility, energy efficiency, and long-term maintenance needs. The result will be a set of clear, community-aligned, and financially responsible recommendations for the future of Dedham's public facilities.
This is the first plan of its kind in Dedham's history, and it's happening because residents asked for it. Community feedback made clear that a coordinated, Townwide approach to facilities planning was needed, and this project delivers exactly that.
Who's Leading This Effort?
The Facilities Master Plan Steering Committee brings together representatives from across Town government, Dedham Public Schools, and the community to guide this effort. Members include representatives from the Select Board, School Committee, Finance & Warrant Committee, Planning Board, Library Trustees, Parks & Recreation, and two community members-at-large, supported by the Town Manager, Superintendent of Schools, and key department heads. The FMP Steering Committee will help to guide the final report to the Select Board and School Committee for final approval.
