Door-to-Door Inspection Program - Prohibited Connections
Working with consultants from Weston & Sampson, the Town has developed a Door-to-Door Inspection Program of all properties within the following designated project area in response to a number of reported instances where property owners have experienced a backup of sewage into their homes, on their properties, and along nearby roadways.
Project Area Overview
Includes 1600 properties in and around the Manor Neighborhood area, from:
south to Vincent Road;
west to Ledgewood Road and Stoughton Road;
north to the MBTA Commuter Rail Line (near Cedar Street); and
east to the Boston/Dedham line.
While the Town is continuing its Inflow/Infiltration Program to identify and address (remove) the sources of clean water that enter the sanitary sewer system from public properties, the next step is to identify possible sources from privately owned parcels through prohibited connections, such as sump pumps and exterior roof drains.
Video Demonstration of Inspection
The team from Weston & Sampson recorded an inspection conducted at a residential property within the study area in Dedham to show what a typical inspection will include and how long it is expected to take.
Note: This video was recorded with permission from the property owner.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this feedback survey. The Town of Dedham has prepared this short survey to hear from you about your experience with the recent inspection at your property as part of the Door-to-Door Inspection Program to identify and inventory prohibited connections to the Town's sanitary sewer system. The following questions will ask about scheduling your inspection (if applicable), your interactions with the inspection team, and the overall experience. Thank you for your time and for your feedback.
This survey is only for property owners of the identified affected properties within the study area who also received a letter from the Town dated November 19, 2025.
Please complete the following short survey to share with us your preference for mitigation measures presented at our recent hybrid meetings, hosted by the Director of Engineering Jason Mammone on December 3 and December 10.
(Please note: The two meetings are the same and were offered on two nights in hybrid format so property owners could attend the meeting that best fit their schedule.)
Survey closes at 5PM on Monday, January 5, 2026. Please submit one response per household.
